Story Of Kinnaur Apples
Experience the crispy crunch of Apples of superior quality, gradually ripened, intensely sweetened, and naturally grown at an altitude of over 10,000 feet, Kinnaur.
The “Apples from Kinnaur” are excellent due to their deliciousness, crunchiness and prolonged shelf-life. With glossy smooth skin and attractive coloures in hues of deep red, green, yellow, or orange, the apple collected from orchards of Kalpa Pooh and Sangla area, largely adopting natural farming, are very delightful.
The apple produced at higher altitude contains higher fruit TSS, TSS/acid ratio, total sugar reducing and non-reducing sugar contents and lowest acidity. (Many research findings suggest that elevation exerted a direct impact on the overall fruit quality of apple, which was significantly superior at Kalpa and Reckong-Peo elevation)
Apples grown in Kinnaur are appealing to health-conscious consumers as these are largely organic with minimal use of chemical (Disease Suppression: The cold, dry temperate conditions at altitudes of 9,000 to 12,000 feet naturally inhibit many pests and diseases that thrive in warmer, more humid mid-hill regions. Rich Organic Carbon: The soils in regions like Kalpa and Pooh are naturally rich in organic carbon and maintain a favorable pH (5.5–6.5), reducing the immediate need for heavy chemical fertilization. Glacial Irrigation: Orchards are often irrigated by pristine glacial meltwater, which provides a clean environment free from the industrial or runoff pollutants).
Fruits are rich in fibre, antioxidants, and vitamins, supporting immunity and digestion. Being low in sodium, fat these are good for controlling cholesterol. Scientists have reported apples for improving Lung Strength, Heart health, Bone Health, Weight Loss, Brain and Immune System.
